Newfiepalooza 2008
Photo Contest

We've received a VERY generous
donation from PatchWorkPattie's Quilts to make a photo quilt that
will be
auctioned off (live auction) at this year's Newfiepalooza - Benefit
for Rescue.
Because Pattie
Mitchell - of PatchWorkPattie Quilts -
needs a number of personalized photos to make the quilt - we've decided
to have a photo contest to get the best pictures from our club members.
Here are
two examples of quilts she has made in the past. These are exquisite
handmade pieces of art. The winner of this item is sure to have an
amazing keepsake.
Now on to
the contest:
- There will
be 12 winning photos chosen from all submitted. The winners will
be chosen by a panel of unbiased 'experts' ...
- The
judges will not know who submitted each photo - they will
be given a number, which the judges will use to identify.
- The
winning photos will have their photos showcased at Newfiepalooza
and, obviously, on the quilt. The winners will also receive
twelve (12) Showcase Raffle Item Tickets (a $20 Value) and forty
(40) brown bag raffle tickets (a $20 value) to use as they wish.
- There
is no limit on the number of entries submitted, nor the number
of winning pictures per entrant. We hope to get a wide range
of activities for our judges to choose from. We would like
to showcase the many activities
and qualities of our wonderful breed.
- All
photos must be submitted and received by February 27th, 2008 at
Noon CST.
- Winners
will be announced via this website on March 1st, 2008
The
Rules for the Contest:
- No
professionally shot photographs (i.e., money paid for the
pictures to be taken).
- The
photos must have been taken by the person submitting the
photo or a member of the immediate family of the person
submitting the photo.
- The
person submitting the photo must be a current member of the
North Central Newfoundland Club.
- The
person submitting the photo gives permission to the club
to use the photo for the quilt and to put the pictures
on the NCNC website and/or newsletter and to display them
at Newfiepalooza 2008 (pictures will not be used for any
other
purpose).

This is not a contest
about being the "best" photographer - rather
they will be choosing the pictures that best emote the feelings of
the Newfoundland Dog and the bond they share with those that are
fortunate enough to own them.
