IMPORTANT Information regarding our breed -
Dear Newfie Owners: Below is a DNA Banking Application and Survey Form. It is being placed here to encourage you to have your dogs' blood drawn and sent in to CHIC DNA repository. Doing so will mean so much for the future health of our breed. If you are coming to the National with a dog(s) and haven't pre-registered for the clinic, you can fill out the forms ahead of time and bring them with you. The clinic is open to walk ins as time allows on Tuesday, and Wednesday-Friday ringside until 10 minutes following the completion of judging. Don't forget to include pedigrees for the dogs whose blood will be drawn. If you are not coming to the National with a dog, our hope is that you will keep these forms on file, so that they are easily available to you for you to do the blood draws at home. Thank you for participating in this very important endeavor. - Pam Rubio, Health and Longevity Committee Co-Chair
Collecting DNA samples is something all of us can do to show we care about our breed. The attachment explains in detail how to properly collect and ship the blood sample. If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact Pam at pamelar@garlic.com
